Tied Up Like Cattle & Leaning On Sticks During Ramadan


Ibn Abi Shaybah:

Marwan Ibn Muawiyah told us from Abdul Rahman ibn Arak ibn Malik from his father: "I witnessed the people in Ramadan (praying Tarwaeeh) with ropes that they hold on to due to the length of Qayam (standing)."

Al Mawarzi:

Reported from Al Saeb: People used to pray in the month of Ramadan 20 Rakats and read two hundred (verses) from the Qur'aan and they used to lean on sticks (for support due to fatigue)

From Yazeed ibn Rooman: People used to pray in the time of Umar twenty Rakats during the month of Ramadan.

Wahab Ibn Kisan: People prayed thirty six rakat and three rakat as witr prayer to this day in the month of Ramadan.
