Narrated 'Umrah bint 'Abd al-Rahman: When Imam Alee (a.s) was going to Al-Basra, he went to Umm Salamah (s.a), the wife of the Prophet (saw). And she (Umm Salamah) said: "Journey under the protection of Allah (swt). I swear by Allah, verily YOU ARE UPON TRUTH, AND TRUTH IS WITH YOU. If not that I HATED TO DISOBEY ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER, because he (the Prophet) ORDERED US (WIVES) to sit in our houses (And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance..(33:33)) . I would have journeyed (to war) with you!. But, by Allah (swt), I will send with you someone who is better and more honorable in my sight than myself - my son, 'Umar.
Al-Hakim says: These Hadith are Saheeh (Authentic) on the conditions of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) although they did not record it.
Al-Dhahabi says: Saheeh (Authentic) on the conditions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
